  1. KVIA - New baseball field a "miracle" for some very special kids
  2. KFOXTV, March 13, 2006:"Field Of Dreams" To Become Reality.

Fall Season set to begin

September 14, 2010 - is the start of our fall season. Coaches please call all your players that are on the roster as of today and determine who will be returning and advise the following. You may want to check with the office as new players have been signed up and placed on teams within the last month.

Competitive teams will begin playing Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings. Game time 6:15 PM at Miracle League Field in Ponder Park.

Non competitive teams begin play on Saturday, September 18, 2010, game times will be 9:30 AM and 11 AM. and continue each Saturday ending October 30, 2010. We need registration forms for returning players signed and $20 fee paid before August 31, 2010. New players registration forms need to be returned by August 28 with $35 fee paid or arrangements made. All orders for larger sized uniforms or new uniforms will need to be done by August 28 to assure time for receipt of uniforms.

The Miracle League needs team sponsors for this season. We received two sponsor forms one from Western Refining and the other for the Blue Jays from an anonymous donor in memory of Walt Phillips. The rest of the teams are not sponsored for the season. $500 helps defray costs associated with screen printing uniforms, difference between fees received and actual cost of uniforms, sponsor patches, awards at the end of the season, and the scholarship fund, and additional equipment. If you have someone confirmed who will donate please contact the office ASAP.

WE NEED

  1. Two coaches for two non competitive teams this season, the Phillies and the Pirates.
  2. Umpires for both the competitive and non competitive games. Umpires are volunteers and are not paid for their services.
  3. We always need buddies for each team playing, average 15 volunteers per game per team.
We will schedule team parent meeting/anger management video and volunteer orientation for the week of August 23-27, more information to follow.

We want to involve the seniors in our community who would like to come out and help in any capacity as well as the veterans.

We want to ask that all media outlets help spread the word about our season, our need for umpires, coaches and volunteers and, of course, registration of new players. Press releases will follow at a later date.

Announcements

We are currently working on basketball and soccer leagues. For more information contact the office.

We are also forming softball leagues for our parents and family members. This will help with the normal everyday frustrations, get us back into shape and form new friendships among our league community. We have a few people who have already notified us of their desire to participate but we still need more. We were hoping to form teams from each Miracle League team we have. Might be fun and then we can look at forming some volleyball teams as well.

Needed

A dedicated and artsy craftsy person who is willing to undertake a huge project, like a wonderful, beautiful scrapbook for the league. Only serious, interested people should apply (volunteer). I have tons of pictures and newspaper articles already. I want it to be a showcase of our work.
